Ballad/5/4-Rock Groove/Bossa Nova
Duration ca. 12 min
The minor melody is stated first as a ballad then in a 5/4 rock groove. Solos are played over minor blues harmonies and are followed by a virtuoso sax soli. The melody comes back in a trumpet fortissimo, before everything turns fine in a soft bossa outro. Compared to the CD version all flute and clarinet parts have been rearranged for saxes.

Jazz Waltz/Afro Cuban 6/8
Duration ca. 9 min
The hardbop head, made famous by the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, is stated first in the original setting and appears completely reharmonized in the second chorus. After solos on the original groove, alto 1 is challenged by playing over the new chords and massive backgrounds. Finally the piece turns into a 6/8 afro-cuban groove, space for a modal solo.
